Bandphotos and Cover-Artwork for Jack of Diamonds

Last year i shot bandphotos for the band “Jack of Diamonds” from my hometown and this year i shot and designed an album-artwork for them. Don’t get my wrong: I know that i’m no graphics-designer and i think my outcome looks like a pure amateurs work. I saw some other artists attempt on that and i think it was waaaay better than mine. But well, they wanted to have a photo for their cover and they asked me if i could help them out with the artwork also so i said yes. And at least, they liked it ;)

The last two photos are two alternatives that i shot for the cover.

60secondframes – Nette Part II

“60secondframes” is a series of very similar pictures, shot in a short period of time, usually around 60 seconds.

Last Week Nette had a shooting with Anne Puhlmann and i helped a little bit behind the scenes. It was really a pleasure to meet an other photographer who’s making such awesome photos and isn’t really living too far from me. Anyway, i didn’t wanna take photos of Nette myself but i couldn’t hold ;)

All these photos are processed with my “Sundried Film” Photoshop Action.

It was about time that i shoot this beautiful girl again. This is not a classical portrait shooting, it’s more like…. you know.

Maybe you remember this bandshooting i did for the band “Limited” last year. Markus, one of the bandmembers ordered one of my giftcards as a Christmas present for his girlfriend and we did a couple-shooting last Saturday. We were pretty lucky with the weather it looked like rain but in the evening it got perfectly sunny so we went to a lake near my home and I did my first couple shooting with a non-wedding-couple.

Anna’s expecting a baby

Well, my most favorite Make-Up-Artist, Anna is expecting a baby and i shot some maternity photos for her yesterday. It really don’t happens a lot that you’re able to shoot a pregnant model and i’m glad i had the chance to!

All shot with available light and a reflector. Thanks to my assistance Anita!

Prague Day 3

Oh yes, there has been a third day in Prague too but it was very short. After our get-up we just had to revisit the Charles Bridge because Nette wanted to buy a photo or drawing from one of the artists there. We made a little breakfast break at a restaurant called “School”, very close to the Charles Bridge. So tasty but not really cheap! Our trip ended at around 1PM and we started to drive home after taking a last walk through these nice streets.

Did some experiments with the avilable light in this hotel. I’m really impressed about how great photos can look, if you use the light inside a room wisely! Beauty Dish was also invovled sometimes.

Jakob is one of my best friends and we used to play in a band called “The Lotus Effect” a few years ago. We haven’t seen each other in nearly a year when he visited me last weekend. He’s studying multimedia arts with focus on audio in Salzburg, Austria. He visited me because i requested him to record a song of my band which we needed to take part in a film-music contest.

Also he needed some promotional photos to use them in his portfolio and SoundCloud-profile and so on. He wanted to have some pretty much simple photos with a dark background the rest was up on me and i really love the outcome because i can’t lie but say: I didn’t expect him to be such a good model ;)

Prague day 2

On the first evening, Alex and I made the plan to get up pretty early on the next morning to capture Prague in the morning light… of course we didn’t. Instead of that we took a long sleep and were watching Dragonball Z before we got out of the hotel to grab some breakfast at a bar. We spent the rest of the day wandering out the city near the Charles bridge to see some of the touristic spots of prague. On the way to Charles bridge, we found a Café called “Kafka Snob Food”. A really photogenic place with nice fruit cakes.

On the Charles Bridge I found a photographer called Petr Brincil, who sells his photographs there for over 20 years now. He had some amazing shots of Prague and the bridge in his portfolio but I decided to buy a much more personal work from him: A portrait of his son, which is more a snapshot because it was taken while his son was watching a TV show but I saw so much depth and personality in this shot that I decided this would be the best thing, I could take home with me from Prague: A very personal work of a local photo artist.

Later that day, we landed in the Hard Rock Café to grab some dinner and on the evening we visited the bar “Room” again because Nette wanted to see it too. As she did this boring action and was going to bed very early on the first evening, letting Alex and me discover Prague at night alone, we decided to call such a weak action “To pull a Nette”. ;)
